After many happy years living aboard as our London residence, Bruce and Caroline are now forced, through family circumstance, to move to pastures new. For them life has now taken a different course and it is time for her new owners to enjoy the privilege of living on this historically-important vessel (Original Rhine barge class) .

Over the course of our 25 years of ownership a continuous programme of improvement and refitting has taken place providing our London residence through the working week and then the added bonus of weekend cruising when time permits. With certification VRIJHEID would make an ideal European waterways vessel.

As shown in the comprehensive service history/maintenance log,  she has been professionally surveyed in dry dock every 4 years, regularly repainted, serviced, improved and pampered. Her hull, superstructure, decks and steelwork are in good condition. Meanwhile below decks a very comfortable interior with all modern day conveniences,  professionally installed, gives a level of comfort enjoy by those living on land.

Living and cruising aboard M.V.Vrijheid is relaxing and easy. She is extremely uncomplicated to helm with a skipper and one crew.

Domestic battery banks deliver mains electricity when away from the mooring through power inverters providing normal services thereby allowing the Fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, and whatever else you may wish for to be used when cruising. A large fresh water tank and more than adequate baffled black water tank (sewage) means you only stop when you want to, not because you have to.

The Aga-style Stanley 80000 BTU oil-fuelled range  is ideal for all cooking needs and produces continual hot water as well as supplying the 14 large radiator central heating throughout the living space.
